The Path
Srinivasa
Rangaswami
It’s the goal that sets the path
If the goal be noble
The path otherwise can’t be.
The chosen paths may vary
If the goal be the same
All of them at the end converge.
The path may be self-chosen
Or set by example of a life lived
as of my father.
The path may be daunting, weary.
If the gaze be fixed on the goal-post
Unshaken faith will guide you through.
The path helps one drop on the way
all unwanted baggage to arrive finally
light, chastened, in native purity.
If the goal be noble, pursuit pure,
faith unflinching, the journey itself
becomes a process of becoming.
