In a moment
Of sufferings
Writ large on her face
Disappeared.
Liberated soul
Did a distant flight
With what agonised the body.
What a satisfaction and relief
On her lips and
Semi closed eyes,
How secure is the
Unwrinkled forehead!
The kind cheeks forgiving all.
To whom the body belongs now?
Any mother?
Mother of anybody?
Or just human remains?
It is a poem, which touches our hearts
and strikes a universal note. The
poet’s mother passed away on July 5, 2001.
Her presence is stronger now than at any tone!
